Supporting United Against Cancer

As a Silver Sponsor of United Against Cancer (UAC) in 2026, the Reddy Foundation helped support a year of work that drove impact across education, treatment, and community.

At the University of Auckland, United Against Cancer ran five cancer awareness education sessions this year, led by medical specialists and covering blood cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer, melanoma and skin cancer, and prevention and early detection, work aimed at the students and future clinicians who will shape how these conversations happen for years to come.

For people already navigating treatment, United Against Cancer's 2026 funding included $50,000 to Cancer Society Auckland Northland's Driving Service, which gets patients to and from appointments when transport is often the hardest part of getting care. $34,000 went to Ronald McDonald House Charities, split across a new contribution, an apartment sponsorship renewal, and support for Cook Nights, the ordinary infrastructure that lets a family stay close to a child in treatment. A further $5,000 funded ten palliative care nurses to attend conferences and further their training, work that rarely gets attention but shapes end-of-life care for years afterward.

One thread ran directly through the Reddy Foundation's own work in the South Pacific. United Against Cancer's $5,000 ANZGITA Tongan Trainee Scholarship, delivered with Dr Judy Huang, supported a specialist from Tonga to attend two training courses and complete a two-week observership at Middlemore Hospital. A Pacific clinician, an Auckland hospital, skills carried home, a shape familiar to anyone following the Foundation's stroke care partnership with Friends of Fiji Health.
