In 1926, Sadhu Kuppuswamy, who arrived in Fiji as an indentured labourer, brought South Indian families together on the banks of the Nadi River. That gathering became the Then India Sanmarga Ikya Sangam, and a century later TISI Sangam runs 21 primary schools, five secondary schools, 18 early childhood centres and a College of Nursing, teaching more than 10,000 students of every background.

To mark that centenary, the Reddy Foundation proudly gave $100,000 FJD. One thousand dollars for every year of Sangam's service.
The gift carries a family connection. Our founder, the late Y P Reddy, joined Sangam's reform committee in 1976 and was elected National President in 1977, leading the organisation for more than two decades. In all, he gave Sangam 64 years of service. He restored unity, steadied its finances and kept education at the centre of its work. He gave generously and without fanfare, and that is the spirit in which this gift is made.

The Foundation's own work in education, health, poverty relief and community across Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga shares the belief Sangam has held for 100 years: that education changes lives, and that a community which looks after its own lifts everyone.
Congratulations to the Sangam family on 100 years.
