Recognising the busy status of hospital emergency departments, UAC collaborated with Franklin Hospice Charitable Trust, fundraising for a vehicle to enable in-home nursing care for palliative cancer patients. Kamini and Kalpana Reddy were delighted to attend the presentation where the new 4WD was gifted to Franklin Hospice along with a $10,000 NZD donation to support patients on their final journey.
Alongside supporting Franklin House, UAC presented Ronald McDonald House with a one year apartment sponsorship to the value of $10,000 NZD and $6,000 NZD to West Auckland Hospice.
Sponsoring accommodation at Ronald McDonald House alleviates the burden of accommodation costs whilst young patients and their families receive the best treatment possible.
Refurbishment of counselling and exercise rooms have been prioritised at West Auckland Hospice, along with new art therapy supplies to support the psychological needs of patients.
UAC have currently raised over $250,000 NZD, with the aim to make a real difference in cancer sufferers' and their loved ones' lives.
Reddy Foundation are proud to be a Silver Sponsor of United Against Cancer and support the incredible work they do.
