Both the people and the country were beautiful. Cycling through villages which appeared to have very little in material wealth but an abundance of happiness was humbling. We got to see the equipment previous trips had purchased in medical centres and meet the wonderful people using it. In one medical centre, serving a large rural area the doctor explained to me that everything was high on the walls because it flooded to over chest height each year and that they had lost most of their staff to New Zealand and Australia, but their determination to serve their community was inspiring.
